Lock

A shared switch on a group that keeps it from being selected or changed until someone unlocks it.

A lock is a switch on a group in the plan: a group of devices in Equipment, the surround group, every conduit, or an annotation session. It says "leave these alone" — lock the speakers, then work on what is beneath them.

Saved in the plan, it is shared: locked stays locked for everyone, and anyone who can edit can unlock. Members who can only view see the padlocks and cannot press them.

Locked things stay visible and print as before: a lock never changes a saved version, a PDF or a share link.

On the drawing, a click passes through a locked item to whatever is beneath it. A box, Shift-click and ⌘A pass over it, and nothing moves, edits, erases or deletes it. Where a click lands only on something locked, one thing turns amber to say which padlock to press: that group's own, or otherwise its tab. The outline under the pointer skips it too, but pointing at its row still outlines it, and a right-click names it with a padlock — a sign, not a switch.

Something locked can still be brought to front or sent to back, and it moves with its blueprint.

Locks are for groups only, never a single device or mark. Locking is a switch like the eye, not an edit: undo never locks or unlocks anything. An edit a colleague had already started when the lock arrived still lands; the lock holds from then on.

Task: Lock a group.
