How do I…

Read cable totals

The Totals in the Cabling tab — what the lengths cover, what to fix, the warnings, and the cable to buy per type for the project or one rack or panel.

Where to find it: right edge › Cabling › Totals

Totals carries a red count of what needs fixing. The project's total at the foot of Racks opens it too.

A total is only as good as the cables that have a length. "Covers 33 of 41 cables", with its bar, says how many do, and What to fix says what the rest need, such as "Assign 8 cables to a rack or panel" or placing a riser.

Warnings are listed in red, such as Ethernet past 295 ft (90 m) installed, a rack or panel over its capacity, a group over its limit or its Max length, a riser placed twice on one floor, a speaker wired away from its zone or of another voltage than its line, and a zone of 70V or 100V speakers still waiting for its line — connect or disconnect one of its speakers, and its line is stored. Advice follows in grey, such as passive HDMI past about 25 ft. Click one to find its icon.

Cable to buy adds up the cable by type in the workspace's units, for All racks & panels or, chosen in the same list, one rack or panel or the icons Not assigned:

  • Qty is how many cables of that type.
  • Installed is their length with the loops at both ends.
  • The last column adds the Correction percentage for waste and the unexpected — 30% unless your company set another. Change it here or in Project settings; it is this project's.

All cables is the sum. A total with a star leaves some cables out. Off plan cables have no length and are not counted. Measured lengths count as measured.

Lengths are estimates from the drawing: verify on site.
