The drawing

Upload a floor plan, place devices, organise sheets and keep everything numbered.

Opening a project shows its plan: the sheets side by side in Default View, with named views in rows below. These are different visibility settings for the same drawing; moving a device in one row moves it in every view. There are panels on both edges and a toolbar at the bottom. The drawing screen maps every control, and zoom and move around a drawing shows how to get about with a mouse, a trackpad or a finger.

A typical first drawing

  1. Upload a blueprint of the floor plan.
  2. Set the scale so aims and spans are true to size.
  3. Change the paper size to the size you will print.
  4. Place devices from the Palette, then change their details.
  5. Add sheets for more floors.
  6. Connect devices into zones, or build a whole surround system in one step.
  7. Set up head ends, the racks and panels every cable goes to, then check each icon's cables.
  8. Add annotations for notes to the crew, place the compass for north and add a scale bar. Measure a distance whenever you need one.

Keeping track

Every device gets a number, counted in the equipment list under Equipment. Mark progress with work status and save filtered pages as views.

Saving

Changes save on this device at once and then sync; the icon in the header shows which. Save keeps a version. See saving and sync.
