Workspace limits

The safety ceilings every workspace has on files, blueprints, PDFs and invitations, whatever its plan.

What each plan includes, projects and sheets among them, is in plans. These are the ceilings every workspace has, whatever its plan.

  • On Solo and Team, where projects and sheets are unlimited, a project still holds at most 200 sheets.
  • A blueprint PDF may be up to 256 MB to choose a page from; a PNG or JPEG, and the page that is kept, is at most 32 MB. A sheet holds up to 32 blueprints within a shared image budget.
  • A PDF may have up to 200 pages to choose from. One page per blueprint. A page over 200 inches on a side, as a drawing exported at full size can be, is shrunk until its long side is 200 inches; set the scale as for any other.
  • A PDF page is imported at up to 150 dpi, and at fewer for a page over about 27 inches, so that no blueprint is more than 4,000 pixels along its long edge. The blueprint's Size row says what it prints at.
  • A PDF page may draw up to 1,200,000 separate lines and marks where the browser says the device has 8 GB of memory or more, and 700,000 where it says nothing — which is every iPad, and Safari and Firefox on any computer. The busiest page of a real 74-page bid set draws 566,096, so a whole-floor CAD sheet is comfortably inside both.
  • Preparing one page stops after five minutes, and reading a page out of the file after one minute.
  • All stored files in a workspace together, blueprints and saved PDFs, are at most 1 GB. An upload that never finished counts until its file is really gone, which the app sees to on its own within a few hours.
  • A PDF has at most 200 pages.
  • A workspace logo is a PNG or JPEG up to 2 MB.
  • Invitations expire after seven days. A burst of invitations from one workspace pauses sending for a while, and invitation emails stop for the day after ten from one person or twenty across the app.

When a file cannot be stored

If a blueprint is refused by storage, because the workspace's 1 GB of files is used up or the file is larger than the service accepts, the drawing keeps working on your device but stops syncing, and sharing waits. The sync status names the blueprint and its sheet. Remove or replace that blueprint and syncing resumes; every device stays where it is.
