With a mouse, the wheel zooms toward the pointer, holding the middle button (the wheel) and dragging pans under any tool, double-clicking it fits the sheet to the screen, and Shift with the wheel pans sideways. On a trackpad, two fingers pan and a pinch zooms; see zoom and move around a drawing. An Apple Magic Mouse scrolls like a trackpad, so it pans; with any mouse or trackpad, ⌘ or Ctrl while scrolling zooms.
