The drawing screen

Where everything is when a project is open. Task pages point here when they say "right edge" or "bottom toolbar".

The plan shows Default View first, named Views below, and sheets in aligned columns. Rows share one drawing. Hidden sheets stay dim; fully hidden Views leave the canvas but remain in the sidebar. Zoom and pan, or use Fit to screen. Click a sheet to activate its row and reveal clipped sheets. Or use the Sheets menu.

WhereWhat is there
Header, leftHome, then the project name. Clicking the name opens the project's details.
Header, rightThe sync status icon, theme, Interface size, the question-mark and bug button to get help or report a bug, Share, Save, and the arrow beside Save for Saved versions and Recovery copies.
Left edgePalette (device icons, and a Plan tools tab: Compass, Scale bar, Measure), Annotations: your sessions newest first, each with an eye and a padlock, then Plan tools, and Views: Default and named views, with visibility controls. Editors save changes automatically; Viewers use temporary choices. Viewing: names the current named row.
Right edgeProperties (what is selected, or the project and sheet settings; the drawing opens on it), Equipment (counts, a search and the work-status filter, and an eye and a padlock on each group; see Lock a group) and Cabling, top to bottom, one job at a time. Cabling has Racks (the racks and panels and the icons not assigned to one), Groups (keypad links, fire loops and lines), Risers (floor by floor) and Totals (what to fix and the cable to buy); its gear opens Project settings, and Cable cards beside it shows or hides the cable cards.
Bottom toolbarSheets, Pan, Select, Smart alignment, Adjust icon size, Fit to screen, Undo, Redo and Delete selected; a paste button joins them once something is copied. With an annotation open, its drawing tools sit beside them.
Above each sheetA line with the sheet's name, paper size, orientation, scale and number. Click it to open that sheet's properties.

Properties changes with what you select

  • Nothing selected: two tabs, Project and Sheet. Project holds project details, company and designer, numbering, drawing font and logo size. Sheet holds the name, paper size, icon and label size, highlights, its floor, scale and blueprints.
  • One or more devices, or devices and marks together: a title naming the selection, a Replace… button, its ⋯ (Copy, Duplicate and Delete, or Delete selected for several) and × to deselect, the work status always in view, then the sections Device, Placement, Cabling and Product, each opened or closed with its heading. For one device they hold its details and cables; for several, what they share.
  • A blueprint being edited, the compass, the scale bar, an annotation, a keyed note or its table: their own controls.

Pointing and clicking

Whatever a click would take is outlined faintly under the pointer before you click it, and pointing at a row in Equipment or Annotations outlines what that row stands for on the sheet; double-click an Equipment row to show its device. Something locked is never outlined under the pointer, because a click there goes past it — from a row it still is. Clicking something on the drawing shows its row in its own panel, or flashes that panel's tab when it is not on screen; see Select a mark. No panel opens by itself. Right-click, or hold a finger, and a short list names everything under that point so you can reach what is underneath and lock or hide its group.

The left and right panels fold away; click a panel's name on the edge to open or close it. The ? key lists the keyboard shortcuts.
