How do I…

Draw a shade or drapery

Click one end, then the other. Hold Shift to draw it level, plumb or in 15° steps.

Where to find it: Palette › Equipment › Window treatments

  1. Click Shade, Double Shade, Drapery or Corner Drapery. The Placing bar at the bottom shows what you are drawing.
  2. Click on the sheet where one end goes.
  3. Click where the other end goes. A Corner Drapery takes three clicks: its start, its corner, then its end.

Level, plumb and clean angles

The line goes exactly where you click, at any angle, so a shade can follow a wall that is slightly off.

Hold Shift as you click to put the line on the nearest 15° step, the steps a camera's aim takes: level, plumb, 15°, 30°, 45° and so on all round. When it lands level or plumb, a blue dotted guide runs along it. The length stays where you click; only the angle snaps.

Move an end later

Select the shade and drag one of its square handles: S is its start, E its end, and B a corner drapery's corner. Hold Shift while you drag and the end snaps the same way against the end that stays put, keeping the length you drag it to; a corner snaps against both of its lines, so near level and plumb it makes a square corner. Without Shift the end goes where you drag it. A shade already on the sheet stays exactly as it was drawn until you move one of its ends.
