Group keypads on a link

Keypads join LINK groups at their rack or panel; see a group's cables, set its limit and spare, and move keypads between groups.

Where to find it: the Cabling tab › Groups › its group, such as LINK-1

Every keypad joins a Cable group at its rack or panel when you place it, paste it or send it to another rack or panel: the newest group there with room, else a new one. Fifteen keypads fill LINK-1; the sixteenth starts LINK-2. A dimmer, switch, keypad dimmer or fan control set to Wired joins the link as a keypad does; see place a keypad, dimmer or switch.

  1. In the Cabling tab, Groups lists every group under its rack or panel, such as LINK-1 with "Keypads · 8 of 15". Point at one to outline its keypads; click it to open it in place.
  2. The group lists its cables: the run to the rack or panel, the spare — leave it disconnected and insulated — and one between its members. It has no order: the installer decides that on site.
  3. Change its cable, its Limit — your company's rule, its Max length, or switch A spare run to the rack or panel off. Select members selects its keypads on the drawing.
  4. Past its limit the group turns red. New group moves the keypads past the limit to new groups of up to the limit each — 40 keypads on a limit of 15 make three groups; each needs another link at the rack or panel.

In a keypad's Properties › Cabling, its Group row's ⋯ lists each other link to move to, such as "Move to LINK-2", and New group, which starts a group of its own. Select several keypads to move them together. Each change is one undo step.

Pasted keypads join the group beside them if it has room. A duplicated sheet's keypads get a new group of their own.
