How do I…

Finish syncing after offline work

What happens when the same things were changed on this device and online, and what to do when syncing cannot finish.

Where to find it: open the project after working offline › Changed here and online

If someone changed the project online while you worked offline, both sets of changes are combined by themselves when the connection returns, as long as you changed different things.

When you both changed the same thing, such as moving the same icon, syncing waits for you. Both versions are saved first, then Changed here and online opens. It lists each item you both changed, what each side did to it and when each side last changed the drawing. Tap an item to see it on the drawing; Review at the top brings the list back.

  • Combine puts both sides' changes in. Where you both changed the same thing, one version stays, and the list then shows whose each item has, so you can put anything right by hand.
  • Keep online leaves the drawing as it is online. This device's version is kept.

If the two cannot be combined into one drawing at all, you choose between Keep online and keeping this device's version instead.

Later puts the list away, and the line at the top of the drawing has Review to bring it back. Until you choose, nothing is sent and Home shows Waiting for you. Both versions stay in Saved versions, so either can be restored later; when the server cannot take a copy, they are kept on this device instead, in Versions and recovery. Keeping one version is not offered while the drawing is open in another tab, which would bring the other back: close it there first.

When syncing cannot finish

If syncing cannot finish by itself for a few minutes, because the server keeps refusing or stops answering, the line at the top of the drawing says Sync can't finish with the reason. It offers Download recovery file, which keeps everything on this device as a file, and Contact support. Your work stays saved on this device, and syncing keeps trying.
