How do I…
Delete a project
An Owner can delete one project and everything in it, permanently.
Where to find it: Home › the project's row › the Actions button › Delete
Only an Owner sees this. It cannot be undone. If you only want the project out of the way, and out of the project limit, archive it instead — an archived project stays readable.
- On Home, choose the Actions button (…) at the end of the project's row.
- Choose Delete.
- Read what the project holds: sheets, devices, blueprint files, issued versions and its share link.
- Type the project name in Type the project name to confirm.
- Choose Delete project. Cancel stops it at any point before that.
This removes the project and everything in it for everyone: the drawing and all its sheets, every version that was ever issued and the PDFs kept with them, and the blueprints you uploaded to it. Its share link stops working, and a published page is taken down first — if it cannot be reached, nothing is deleted and you can try again.
The client and the address stay in your workspace; other projects keep using them. So does the record of what was done in the workspace, which shows that the project was deleted and by whom.
The files leave our file storage afterwards rather than in the same second; nothing in the app can reach them from the moment you delete. Backups we keep for disaster recovery are not changed by this and are not used to restore deleted work, so download what you want to keep first. What is kept and why is in your data and the legal documents.
Deleting frees a slot straight away: at five active projects, delete one and you can create or duplicate another immediately. It works on active and archived projects alike.
From a link in another app
Another of your company's systems can link straight to a project's Delete. The link switches to the project's workspace, if you are a member, and opens the same confirmation as above. Nothing is deleted until you type the name and choose Delete project. If you are not an Owner there, Home says so instead and nothing opens.
