How do I…
Save a version or restore one
Keep a numbered snapshot of the plan, or go back to an earlier one without losing anything.
Where to find it: open the project › Save (header), and the arrow beside it › Saved versions
Your work saves itself continuously. A version is a snapshot you keep on purpose.
Save a version
- Choose Save in the header. The Save version dialog opens.
- Add a name in Name (optional) if it helps.
- Turn on Update shared link if the published share link should show this version too.
- Choose Save revision (for example v3.10), or Save major to start v4.0. The very first one is Save first version. Save major also locks numbers if they are unlocked; the dialog says so first, and the confirmation reads "v4.0 saved · numbers locked".
Restore a version
- Choose the arrow beside Save, then Saved versions.
- Choose Restore next to the version you want.
- Choose Save current & restore. The current drawing is saved first, so nothing is lost, and the shared link is left unchanged.
Kept before sync
When a device that worked offline and the online drawing both changed the same things, both versions are kept under Kept before sync in Saved versions before anything is combined: one called "Online, before sync" and one named after the person and device, such as "Sam's iPad, before sync". See work without internet for what happens next.
These copies are not versions: they have no number and no PDF, and they never issue a project. A project keeps its newest 20 pairs.
- Choose Restore next to the copy you want.
- Choose Restore again to confirm. The current drawing is kept first, as a "Before restoring" copy in the same list.
A copy larger than 4 MB, or one the server could not take, stays on that device only, in Versions and recovery.
Retained prints
A project's version history page lists each version's saved PDF prints with Preview and Download. Restoring is done from the drawing, not from that page.
