How do I…

Export the cable schedule

Print the cable schedule after the drawing sheets, list only the cables of the pages you export, or leave it out.

Where to find it: open the project › Share (header) › the Cable schedule page

Once the project has a rack or panel, the pages on the left of Share end with Cable schedule, after the sheets.

  1. Choose Share in the header.
  2. Keep the pages you want. The schedule lists the cables of the icons on the sheet pages you keep, as each page's view shows them. A cable whose far end is on a page you left out is still listed, with its far end named.
  3. To leave the schedule out, use the eye beside Cable schedule. Drag it like any page.
  4. Choose PDF to download, or publish the link: both carry the same pages.

The schedule prints on the paper and under the title block of the first sheet. It starts with the totals for each cable type, per rack or panel and for the project, with the correction added. Then comes a section per rack or panel, the main one first. Not assigned comes last, in grey. With more than one building it is grouped by building first.

Each row is one cable, with a box to tick, its Cable ID, the icon, floor, cable type, length, destination and notes, a note typed over lines with " / " between them. A pair's row notes its conductor colours, and the cable to one motor of a shade drawn before with a motor in each section which one, such as Motor 2 of 3. A group's rows follow a line with its members and count. Off plan cables have no length. A wireless shade on a battery or an outlet is a note line at the end of its rack's or panel's section, in its building, with no Cable ID or length and in no total. Every page ends with "Lengths are estimates from the drawing — verify on site."

When the project uses rooms, each row also has a Room after the icon: the room of the icon the cable serves, with its floor added when two rooms share a name, or — when it is in none. It is on by default once a blueprint has rooms in use. To change it, open the Cabling tab's gear › Project settings: Rooms in schedules and lists turns it off or on, and Cable schedule by › Room lists the schedule by room, a section per room in name order (rooms that share a name floor by floor), No room last, with the same totals. A version saved before prints as it was.

A PDF has at most 200 pages, schedule pages included. The schedule holds about 1,250 rows. A presentation also has a limit on its pictures: the blueprints on its sheet pages, and the company logo, which every page carries. A PDF past any of these is refused with a message saying so. Hide the Cable schedule page and download the cable CSV instead, leave out some sheet pages, or replace the logo with a smaller file in Settings. A group's members and other long lists print as many as fit and then how many more there are; the CSV lists them all, members included.
