Add a company cable type
Add, edit and delete your company's own cable types from any cable's type list; a deleted type stays on the cables that use it.

The type list holds the library's cables of your workspace's standard, under Network, Speaker, Control & alarm, Fire alarm, Video & coax and Fiber, and then your company's own under Your company. Every project in the workspace shares those under either standard, and your cabling defaults list them too. Owners and Editors can add, edit and delete them. A cable keeps a type it already uses, even one the list no longer offers.
Add one
- Open a cable's type in an icon's cables and choose New cable type….
- Give it a Name and a short Code of up to 8 characters; the code is what the cable reads as in the table.
- Pick its Colour, its Medium — copper, coax or fiber — and how many Conductors (or Fibers) it has. Gauge, Listing such as CMP, Product and Shielded are there when you need them.
- Choose Add cable type. The cable you started from takes it.
Edit or delete one
Once your company has one, Company cable types… is in every type list; it also has Add cable type. Each type has an edit button, which opens the same form with Save cable type, and a bin, which asks before it deletes. Done closes the list.
Deleting takes a type off the lists for new cables. Cables that already use it keep it: they show its code struck through, and its name reads "(deleted)" in their own list.
If someone else changed the type first, your change is refused and the list is read again; try again from there.
