How do I…
Change the paper size or orientation
Each sheet has its own paper size and orientation, set in the Sheet tab of Properties.
Where to find it: open the project › Properties (right edge, nothing selected) › Sheet › Paper size
- Open the project and go to the sheet you want.
- Click an empty spot on the drawing so nothing is selected.
- Open Properties on the right edge and choose the Sheet tab. Faster: click the line above the sheet that shows its name and paper size, or the gear beside the sheet in the bottom toolbar's Sheets menu.
- Choose a Paper size: Letter, Tabloid, ARCH D, A4, A3 or A1. Any workspace can use any of them; the list puts the workspace's own series first, see set the unit system.
- Choose an Orientation: Landscape or Portrait.
The line above the sheet shows its new size. If any annotations would fall outside the new printable area, a warning lists them before anything changes. You can confirm to move only those annotations inward, or cancel and reposition them yourself. Changing paper or orientation keeps device and blueprint positions unchanged. If an icon or conduit route would newly fall outside the printable area, the change is blocked and the warning identifies what to move first. All views of that sheet use the same paper and orientation. To use the same paper on every sheet, choose Apply layout to all sheets. It also copies icon and label size, label highlights and label connectors. Every sheet is checked before any is changed; one Undo restores the whole layout change.
A project can mix sizes, for example ARCH D floors and a Letter detail sheet. Sizes and the title block are listed in paper sizes and the title block. If icons now look too big or small, adjust icon and label size.
A new sheet starts on A3 in a metric workspace and on Tabloid in an imperial one.
