How do I…
Change several devices at once
Select devices together and change every setting they share, their rack or panel and their cables, one undo step each.
Where to find it: select the devices › Properties (right edge)
Drag a box around devices, or hold Shift and click each one. Properties then shows every row one device would show that all of them have, with the same controls. Where their values differ the row says Mixed; a choice gives every one of them that value, and each change is one undo step for them all.
What they share
- Device: a speaker's Power, a shade's Connection, Sections, Motors and Motor side, a TV's Size, a soundbar's Channels, a wall control's Connection, Stereo, Quantity and Fill, when every device has the row.
- Placement: Mount, Rotation when they all turn the same way, Aim, Coverage and Label.
- Product: Manufacturer, Model, Part number and Network.
A speaker and a shade chosen together share only Fill, Label and the product rows, since nothing else is the same row on both. To colour every icon of a kind, see colour a kind of icon. A display and its paired soundbar turned together turn as the display alone turns them. Shades given a motor in each of two or more sections each become separate shades, as one does; see give each section of a shade its own motor.
Their cables
In Cabling, Sends to shows where they go, each with how many while they differ, and sends them all to the rack or panel you choose; see assign icons to a rack or panel. Its An icon… and Off plan… send every cable of them there at once; see send an icon's cables to another icon or Off plan.
Cables is the same list as one icon's; see change an icon's cables. When their lists match, every row is there. Change a row's cable, where it goes or its note, use minus and plus, Add a row or Remove cable, and each icon's own row changes. A count that differs reads as a range, such as 1–2, and minus and plus change each by one. When their lists differ, only the cables they all have are listed, and a line under the list says so. Reset puts the changed ones back on their defaults.
One at a time
Select one device for its Type (or use Replace…), Split into 3 shades, Surround, Paired, Room, a gang box's gangs, a rack's or panel's own rows, and a row to An icon… or to a Cable group, which Group changes for several.
