How do I…
Put an icon's cables in order
Drag an icon's cable rows, or move them with the arrow keys, so its Properties and its cable card list them in the order you want.
Where to find it: click the icon › Properties › Cabling › Cables › the handle at a row's left
With two rows or more, each row in Cables has a handle at its left.
- Drag the handle up or down. A blue line shows where the row lands. Hold it near the top or bottom of the panel to scroll.
- Let go. The row moves there, as one undo step. Press Escape before you let go to leave every row where it was.
Or choose Move up or Move down in the row's ⋯ to move it one place, or focus the handle and press the up or down arrow.
The icon's cable card lists its cables in the same order. The cable schedule lists cables by Cable ID. While the project's numbers are unlocked, Cable IDs count in row order, so they follow the rows you move. Once locked, a cable keeps its Cable ID wherever its row goes, and Renumber cables numbers them in the new order.
A speaker's first cable back to its rack or panel stays first among those that go back, because it carries its pair and its zone; move the other rows around it. A 70V or 100V line row keeps its piece of the line wherever it goes.
An order of its own marks the icon Changed, so an update of your company's defaults leaves its rows as they are unless you tick it. Moving the rows back to their first order takes the mark away, and an icon that followed the defaults follows them again; Reset does the same. Only the order is stored: a colleague adding a row or changing a quantity at the same moment keeps their change, and a new row joins at the end. See change an icon's cables.
