How do I…
Save and use a surround preset
Save the surround builder's answers as a company preset, place it from its palette tile, and change, edit, rename, duplicate or delete it.
Where to find it: Palette › Equipment › Surround Sound › Builder › Save, and the preset tiles after Builder
A company preset is a surround system your company saved under its own name, for everyone in the workspace. Owners and Editors save and change them; everyone who can draw places them.
Save one
- Build the system in the Surround builder, then go on to its last step, Save.
- Type a Preset name. It starts with a short suggestion, such as the layout and the fronts' type.
- Choose Save preset. Its tile appears in Surround Sound; pointing at it shows the line the builder showed under What will be placed.
Saving is up to you: Place on plan places the system without it.
Place one
Click its tile: the placing card at the foot of the drawing asks for the room, then its front wall, as after Place on plan. A preset remembers the kind of rack — the main rack, a local rack, a new local rack or Not now — and finds it on this project; a local rack is this sheet's, and a new one when the sheet has none. When the sheet has two local racks or more, the card asks Which local rack? first: choose one of its racks. Cancel on the card, or Esc, places nothing.
Change, edit, rename, duplicate or delete one
Right-click its tile, hold it on a tablet, or press Shift+F10 on it:
- Change… opens it in the builder, to adjust this placement first. The preset stays as it was.
- Edit opens it in the builder; its last step's Save changes saves back to it.
- Rename gives it a new name, and Duplicate saves a copy.
- Delete removes it for everyone after you confirm, with no undo. Systems already placed keep everything.
Until your company saves its own presets, tiles for 5.1, 7.1, 7.2 and 5.2.4 stand in. They can be placed, changed or duplicated into a company preset.
