How do I…
Ignore a cable warning
Hide a cable warning that does not apply to how an icon is wired — for everyone, on its card, the drawing, the schedule and printouts — and bring it back.
Where to find it: click the icon › Properties › Cabling › Cables › Ignore beside the warning
A warning in red points at something that is usually a mistake, such as a speaker going to another rack than the rest of its zone. Sometimes the job is wired that way on purpose. Then ignore it.
- Select the icon and open Properties › Cabling.
- Under Cables, choose Ignore beside the warning.
The warning is gone from the icon's cable card, the drawing, the cable schedule and every PDF and CSV made from now on, for everyone on the project. It is one undo step. A version already saved keeps what it was issued with.
Cables keeps one quiet line, such as "1 ignored warning", with Show: it lists them, each with Restore, which brings it back.
A warning stays ignored while it is the same problem. If the icon then goes somewhere else, or the rest of its zone does, what it warns of is new and shows again. A cable left without a Cable ID cannot be ignored; renumber cables gives it one. Warnings are ignored one icon at a time, not for several selected together.
A soundbar its surround speakers are wired to is their zone's hub, as a volume control is, so it is not warned for going on to a rack. A speaker wired on to another speaker, such as a rear speaker looped from its partner, counts as going wherever that speaker goes. See change an icon's cables.
