Move or reshape a conduit

Slide a stretch, move a bend, pull an end off a device or drop it on one, and point a conduit's label where you want it.

Where to find it: click a conduit's line, its row in a label, or its number on a bundle; its Properties open and its handles appear on the drawing

  • A stretch: drag a straight stretch to slide it sideways. The stretches beside it grow or shrink and keep their angles, a stub at its end goes with it, and where it meets a device a new corner steps out. A conduit with no device moves whole.
  • A bend: drag its round handle anywhere. Near another conduit, or level or plumb with the points beside it or a device, it is pulled into line; Option (Alt) frees it of that. Hold Shift for 15° steps on both of its sides, shown on a ring at each end. Drag a + handle, or double-click the line, to add one. Double-click a bend, or drag it into line with its neighbours, to remove it.
  • An end: drag a stub's square, or the blue dot where the line leaves a device. Pulled off a device it becomes a stub where you let go; dropped on a device it connects there, straight in; with Option held it stays a stub. Shift steps it at 15°.
  • The label: drag it anywhere, and a thin line points at the nearest part of the conduit. Drag the diamond at that line's tip to point at any part; it stays there when the label or the conduit moves. A double-click puts the label and its line back.

Conduits meet a device side by side and turn in to its middle, as LED wires do; two that cross hop. Moving a device carries its conduits’ ends, and every stretch keeps its angle: the bend next to the device slides along, so the stretch to it grows or shrinks and the rest stays where you drew it. Removing a device leaves each end a stub where it stood; undo rejoins them. Move several things together — a box, Select all, or the arrow keys — and a conduit with all its devices among them goes whole. Bends and ends stop at the sheet’s printable edge. Moving a blueprint takes its conduits with it.

Each change is one undo step. To start a new conduit, see draw a conduit.
